Dr. Emma Oshagan brings over 25 years of dedicated experience to the field of clinical psychology, working with children, adults, seniors, and individuals with chronic illnesses across diverse settings such as hospitals, schools, and mental health organizations. She earned her Master's degree in Psychology from the American University of Beirut before arriving in the U.S. in 1975 as a Fulbright-Hays Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she completed her Ph.D. in Communications. After teaching at various universities, she pursued her passion for mental health by obtaining a second Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. Today, she is a licensed psychologist.
Dr. Oshagan has published numerous articles in professional journals, delivered lectures, and led workshops for teens, young adults, and parents. She founded Pacific Clinics' first school-based mental health program tailored to Armenian students in Glendale and also established the Armenian American Mental Health Association in California.
Currently, Dr. Oshagan plays an active leadership role in several community organizations and represents Armenians and other ethnic communities within the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. She serves on the Systems Leadership Team, advising the Director of LA County’s Department of Mental Health.
She is a proud mother of two sons and a loving grandmother to six grandchildren.
